BACKGROUND

UCI’s Office of Educational and Community Partnerships is the first of its kind in the UC system. The Office was created in March 2024, building on the legacy of the longstanding Center for Educational Partnerships (CFEP) which has been serving low-income and first-generation students in Orange County and beyond since 1996.

Also joining the Office are the UCI-OC Alliance and ECCLPs. The UCI-OC Alliance was established in 2021, with the mission to advance UC Irvine as a Latino/a-thriving university by connecting local leaders and businesses to the UCI community. ECCLPs is an intersegmental partnership whose goal is to advance the PK-12 climate and environmental literacy, justice and action through an innovative partnership between the UC-CSU systems. Together, these programs will form the foundation of community engagement strategies for UCI in collaboration with our campus and community partners.
